An experienced Contract Manager required to join an Electrical Distribution team in Nelson/Tasman

About the role

Reporting to the Regional Manager Tasman, this busy role within the Power & Communication Services sector successfully and effectively manages the Contracts within Nelson, the Distribution Substation Faults and Maintenance Contract and a variety of Network projects across the Tasman Region using the Electricians and Technicians based in the Electrical Workshop at the Hope Depot.

  • Leading, motivating and managing a team of Electrical specialists which include Line Mechanics, Electricians and Technicians.
  • Ensuring safety is the top priority at all times
  • Providing customers and employees with a positive and influential communication style
  • Accurate work planning, tracking costs, revenue and profit including updating and submission of reports and claims
  • Creation and submission of tenders
  • Resource programming according to work schedule
  • Ensuring excellence in delivery by the team.

Skills and experience

  • Be a qualified and experienced manager within the contract management sector
  • Relevant industry related qualifications (National Diploma in Engineering, NZCE or registration as an Electrician.)
  • Have demonstrated experience in leading or supervising a team in a similar role
  • Understand what it is to provide a professional quality service and customer experience
  • Have good computer skills (MS Excel, Office) and have the ability to be introduced to new technology (tablets and apps)
  • Be highly organised, personable, able to work autonomously and be a team player
